What it funds

The program centers on a mandatory productive investment: a new unit, an expansion, a diversification, a fundamental process change or the takeover of a closed plant. An innovation project and a research and development project can sit alongside it, always smaller than the investment. The call admits capital goods for digital transformation on the 4.0 and 5.0 model, using AI and industrial IoT, and licenses for new product and process technologies. The rate on the fact sheet applies to investment and innovation; industrial research in the R&D project carries a higher intensity.

Requirements and what is left out

  • Anyone who is not a large company: SMEs and mid-caps below the threshold do not qualify. Their route in the region is FRI Calabria.
  • Anyone filing only innovation or research: without the productive investment, which must remain the main share of the program, the application is inadmissible.
  • Anyone who has already started work: the first binding commitment, even a machinery order, must come after the application.
  • Sectors excluded by the GBER: steel, coal, transport and infrastructure, energy, broadband, plus fishing and primary agricultural production.
  • Anyone unable to fund at least a quarter of the investment costs from own resources or an aid-free loan, as Article 14 of the GBER requires.
  • Anyone below the minimum merit score: under that threshold there is no grant, even with funds still available.
  • Anyone planning several applications: the call allows one per company.
  • Anyone who cannot finish in time: the program must be completed, invoiced and paid within the deadline the call sets from the award, with a single limited extension.

How to apply

  1. Register the company on Fincalabra's platform.
  2. Fill in the application form and attachments, including proof of financial capacity.
  3. Sign the application digitally as legal representative.
  4. Pay the stamp duty and declare it in the application.
  5. Submit from the platform: applications are assessed in order of arrival.

What this budget builds

On an investment this size I deliver the digital layer that makes the machines pay off: line data integrated with the management system, the pipelines that make it readable and the models that work on it. In the innovation project I design the architecture and hand it over working and documented, so the plant does not stay cut off from the rest of the company.

This entry is informational and is not advice: I do not handle grant applications, and before committing to a purchase it is worth reading the official source above or talking to whoever files the application.
